One of our goals for this year was to create a user conference for DistillerSR users to come together, learn from the community, and network. Of course, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those plans had to change. Instead, we decided to take our user conference idea online and create our first ever virtual user conference: DistillerSR Week 2020.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we were already working on advanced artificial intelligence technology to help speed up time-consuming and mechanistic systematic review tasks. However, once the global impact of COVID-19 became clear, we were able to truly see the benefit of AI for speeding up the systematic review process. We made the next generation of DistillerSR available to COVID-19 researchers for free so they could use its advanced AI features to speed up their critical work. At DistillerSR Week 2020, we will share what we discovered about AI and systematic reviews through these initiatives, what the future of systematic reviews looks like in the age of AI, and why we think the application of AI has the potential to turn the process on its head.
